Recap of Right Click Solutions Top Technology Trends for 2021

December 17, 2021

Technology is constantly evolving and advancing its capabilities. This year has been an extraordinary year for technological developments. Let us look at some of the research our marketing intern Katie Gregory found and revisit the top tech trends that were emblematic of 2021.

Trend 1: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • AI is used in applications most people use on a daily or weekly basis, like Google Maps, Uber and Lyft, and Email.
  • Used in analytics programs that help a company maximize sales and revenues during a given period. AI applications like Tellius allow your company to analyze data on a live basis as opposed to basing decisions from a dashboard that only represents a snapshot in time.
  • AI Mitigates risk of human error that frequently occurs when inputting and analyzing data manually. It also has the capability of making decisions with no biases that typically would influence human decision making.

Trend 2: Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Refers to appliances or devices connected directly to the internet.
  • Items like Amazon Alexa and Google Home are widely known examples of IoT at work.
  • Helps simplify workflow processes and cuts costs company wide. Like Artificial Intelligence, it also helps to avoid human error.

Trend 3: Cyber Security

  • With work-from-home becoming a new normal, cyber security has been at the forefront of people’s minds. At Right Click Solutions, we always emphasize the importance of cybersecurity to our clients and offer safeguards such as Dark Web Monitoring, VPNs, Firewalls, Virus Protections and Email Security Services.
  • According to PurpleSec Cyber Security Services, Ransomware is and will continue to be the #1 threat. Ransomware is exactly what it sounds like: an attacker locks you and other members of your organization out of essential files and demands an amount of money for ransom for you to regain access to your data.
  • VMware reported that 50% of security breaches target supply chain members as well as the organization itself.

Trend 4: 5G

  • Along with all the capabilities of 3G and 4G, 5G incorporates augmented reality and virtual reality. Throughout 2021, service providers including Verizon and T-Mobile either launched or started working on implementing 5G capabilities into their product offerings.
  • According to Mondo Tech, Creative, and Digital Marketing Staffing Agency, 5G connectivity is beneficial for business because:
    • It provides faster internet speeds
    • Incorporates network slicing, which refers to the ability to engage in several virtual networks from just a single physical system
    • Allows for multi-access edge computing which helps declutter your networks as well as provide an added security layer that protects your data
